Mission

Providing high-quality educational opportunities to students who would not otherwise have access to them reflects a longstanding Jesuit tradition of service to incarcerated populations. As part of the Boston College community, the ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵPEP shares the University's commitment to upholding the value of a liberal arts education, addressing complex societal challenges, and contributing to the common good.

From the Provost

The Boston College Prison Education Program draws on a centuries-long history of Jesuit educators working with the incarcerated. I am proud of how this mission-driven program brings the transformative power of a Boston College liberal arts education to students at MCI-Shirley. Having taught in the program, I know first-hand just how powerful the experience has been for students and faculty alike.
